My photographic style is the antonym of boring. My style is focused on expression, lighting, and clean yet bold colors. My photographic style uses professional lighting and detailed editing to produce bold yet warm photos. My photos are well lit while also having just the right amount of depth, color, and contrast. I love the golden hour sun and often use it as my backlight. A photo is at its very best when you can feel the subject's inner essence come through the photo. The technical aspects of a photo are pointless if the photo doesn't connect you to the subject. That's why I do my best to create comfortable and fun sessions to capture those natural expressive poses.

1. Planning & ordering sessions. I take the time to make sure each client receives exactly what they want.  This is why I have planning meetings before each session to discover what each client wants and to get to know each client personally. Getting to know each client at a personal level helps me understand the best way to capture their story. Ordering sessions give clients the wheel to take home exactly what they want. I provide clients an immersive experience with unique print products where they can touch and feel the quality before ordering for themselves. With my expert advice and guidance, clients go home excited and satisfied with their investment.

2. Fun & relaxing sessions. Who doesn't like to have fun? I strive to provide a fun and comfortable environment where clients can relax and be themselves. My goal is to make sure clients not only get amazing pictures but that they also have a great time capturing them! Clients can expect to be jamming out to some of their favorite tunes during the session, which I've found helps open clients up.

3. Unique locations. Over the years I have collected a large database of great portrait locations in Boise and the Treasure Valley. I am constantly searching out new exciting and distinct locations for portraits. My clients don't need to settle for the same boring over-photographed park (ahem...Kathryn Albertson Park) they can look forward to shooting somewhere new and exciting.

4. Expert posing. Practice doesn't make perfect, but it sure makes better! I have been studying the art of posing for years and I believe I can provide expert tips to capture each client at their best. My clients can look forward to exciting and bold poses that make them look and feel amazing! Even those with less confidence in their image are amazed at how the right angles and poses can make them look their best!

5. Professional lighting. Lighting separates the boys from the men. Lighting is one of the main factors that can make a photo look professional. Over the years I've experimented with a ton of different lighting gear and lighting scenarios. I can shoot in any type of light and create amazing results. However, I have found that golden hour lighting provides the best type of lighting. Most photographers don't bother with professional camera lighting and just use their cameras. The problem with this is unless the lighting is absolutely perfect, the image won't have as much depth and contrast. Usually, with most "bright and airy" photographers the background is blown out or the colors are washed out. The correct use of professional lighting solves this issue by allowing the camera to capture the background with the right light, while also lighting the subject in the correct way. 

6. Detail editing. I take the time to detail edit each final photo chosen by the client. The average time I spend detail editing a photo is 15-30 minutes. Most photographers will just use the same filter and paste onto each image with some minor editing. Although this saves them time, it doesn't maximize the quality and potential of each image. If you've seen some of my editing videos, you know the amazing difference my detail editing makes. 

7. Unique and exciting print products. Digital images are great, but I believe they are not a finished work of art. Instead of only providing digital images, I spend the time and money to research amazing printed products that provide excitement and quality. Although digital images provide a higher profit margin, I care more about how clients can experience their photographs. My goal is to get clients beautiful art for their home that they can cherish and enjoy forever!
